Band Clinics at the University of Washington
Thank you for your interest in having your group participate in a clinic at the University of Washington. We are very excited to offer clinics for visiting bands here at the UW! Clinics run for 90 minutes on campus and will be lead either by a band faculty member or graduate student(s) studying wind conducting or music education. If you are interested in participating in a clinic at the UW, please follow the following procedures.
-
To request a clinic please fill out this registration form. For additional questions please contact David Stewart at dstew622@uw.edu. This is only for concert band clinics. For other musical ensemble clinics please find and contact the appropriate faculty member here.
-
UW TA David Stewart will email you once you have completed the form. Your clinic request will be confirmed depending on availability of facilities and staff. From that point, you will be sent a confirmation of the event, along with specific procedures and items to complete leading up to the event.
-
If there is a particular faculty/staff member with which you wanted to be doing the clinic, please let us know. We will try our best to get that faculty/staff member involved.
-
Clinics are $500 per group. Please be sure to bring (or mail) a check for $500 made out to “University of Washington Concert Bands" This check must be received prior, or at the beginning of the clinic. If you plan to mail the check, the mailing address can be found at the bottom of this page.
-
Generally, our clinics will have the following structure:
-
Director runs through a quick warmup with the group.
-
Director runs through each of the pieces you would like us to work on.
-
Clinician then takes over.
-
This gives us a chance to hear the group play for a little bit before stepping in.

Thank you for your interest in band clinics at the UW! We are looking forward to working with you and please let us know if you have any questions.
